SHIPPING POLICY
I am not responsible packages that are lost, stolen or damaged in transit. If you have any questions with your order, please send an email to madelinekloepper@gmail.com and please include your order number.
SHIPPING COSTS
Shipping costs are unfortunately very high for small businesses. I generally ship via Canada Post and Purolator as I have found them to be the most cost effective option.
Package, size weight and distance all contribute to the cost of shipping and especially in the case of pottery, extra packaging is needed in order to protect the pieces which increase the size and weight of the parcel.
Overcharges for shipping exceeding $10.00 CAD will be refunded to the buyer once the order is shipped.
DUTIES & CUSTOMS
Duties, tariffs and other customs related fees are the responsibility of the buyer.

PACKAGING
Where possible I try to opt for the most eco-friendly packaging like using cornstarch packing peanuts which dissolve in water or using packing paper. On occasion I will also recycle past packaging ie. reusing bubblewrap.
My greeting cards are packaged in compostable clear bags.
For prints and original artwork I use cello poly bags in order to protect the pieces and they are backed with acid-free mat board.
* I do have a dog so there also may be the occasional dog hair that shows up *
FAQ
(frequently asked questions)
ARE YOUR CERAMICS DISHWASHER AND MICROWAVE SAFE?
Short Answer: Yes, I do it all of the time!
Long Answer: Dishwashers and microwaves are hostile environments which expose your pottery to high fluctuations in temperature and in the case of dishwashers, aggressive detergents. It can affect the glaze and integrity of the piece over time so it is recommended to hand wash all pottery to maintain its longevity.
DO YOU WHOLESALE?
At this time I do not offer wholesale.
In regards to paper goods: I am limited on my print runs due to high overhead so I cannot afford to have large quantities of stock sitting.
In regards to ceramics: Due to the time it takes to hand-paint ceramics I do not find it feasible to offer wholesale discounts.
WHY DON'T YOU SHIP TO XYZ?
Since it is just me running this business and shipping can be difficult to navigate as is, I have made it easier on myself and only ship to Canada and the USA. This could change in the future but the UK in particular has some confusing (to me) regulations for shipping.
I SAW CERAMICS ON YOUR INSTAGRAM BUT DON'T SEE THEM ON YOUR ONLINE SHOP?
I apologize but my ceramics do sell out and I generally only do a couple of updates a year. One later in the year November/December and then one sometime in the spring/summer.
My regular illustration work takes priority and when I have gaps in that schedule then I love to fill it with making pottery.
DO YOU TAKE CERAMIC COMMISSIONS / CUSTOM ORDERS?
I don't do custom ceramic work but on occasion I will open up personal commissions for my illustration work on paper. I have found that there are too many variables with making pottery from the clay itself to firing and glazing and it's hard to guaranteee that things will turn out to my standard.
