I’ve been busy 🫠

The past couple of weeks have been absolutely packed with hand painting all of my bisque ware that I’ve made over the past couple of months for this upcoming holiday season!!
The next step (the rest of today) will be brushing on wax on all of the pieces in preparation for glazing and their final firing tomorrow.

I’ve begun pottery making for the fall/winter holiday season! I even made a fancy little spreadsheet for what I would like to accomplish and you better believe a ton o’ mugs are on the list.

Today was spent trimming mugs and attaching handles. This will be the first batch of many!
For the second picture I did not have to lay out the handles like that… but also i kind of did. 🤷‍♀️

This week has been filled with gardening, field walks and packing up all of your online shop orders and getting them sent out (thank you so much!)

I harvested our garlic a couple days ago since it’s been quite wet lately and I was getting worried about them going bad, so *maybe* they could’ve used a bit time but I’m still excited! We also harvested onion last week so now they are stinking up our basement while they hang in our basement to cure.

We’ve also had so many raspberries and I’ve been out every evening with a step ladder getting a bowlful.

I had such a nice time camping, selling wares and celebrating the reopening of the Berg Lake Trail at Mt. Robson Provincial Park this past weekend!

It was very nostalgic to spend time in the area since Ben spent 3 years as a Park Ranger out at Mt. Robson (several years ago eeeeek)!
In that time I got very familiar with the area especially morning walks on the Berg Lake Trail. It was also so inspiring for my art practice and helped me develop my children’s books “The Not-So Great Outdoors” and “Outside Art” and was the place of a lot of sketching. It’s safe to say Mt. Robson has a place in my heart forever!

Thank you to my sweetie, @hawkinsb2 for helping me and pal, Rachelle and @yourbcparks for working so hard on organizing this event!

I will be out of studio this week on vacation but I am still planning on doing an online shop update July 13 9am PT.

I unloaded my glaze firing this morning and everything looks really good and nothing broke (yay!)

The taller cups were meant to fit a silicone travel lid but the design was off so now they are just really cute tumblers!

I unloaded my glaze firing this morning and everything looks really good and nothing broke (yay!)

The taller cups were meant to fit a silicone travel lid but the design was off so now they are just really cute tumblers!

A little gal tending to her garden.

I tried to plan a lot less with the foliage for this one. I had a rough composition and a sketch of the gal worked out and the rest was more intuition based. Some things got overworked in my opinion but overall it turned out ok.
Downside was when I was taking off the tape, it caught on the upper right and tore the top layer of paper so I had to crop in a bit in photoshop to compensate.
